So for the past like… I don’t know YEARS AND YEARS every month I’ve been clicking over to the Knit Picks Blog and downloading the new calendar background. They always did such a nice job creating a pretty, yarny calendar that was vaguely seasonal, and it was a little treat to download the new one on the first of the month and change my desktop background.

But when I clicked over on September 1st there was no calendar. I clicked back a couple days later and there was still no calendar! Finally there was one added (and post-dated!), and shortly thereafter a notice that there would be no more calendars from that point forward. I know Knit Picks did a round of layoffs, and, as is normally the case, marketing and social media are the first to go!

I don’t blame them of course! It’s rough out there and absolutely bound to get rougher with the promise of tariffs and, well, general uncertainty around the next 4 years.

And I moved on! I uploaded this picture I took in Wales as my desktop background!

How beautiful is that?! It really is a lovely reminder that I’m living my dreams! Traveling all over the world and getting to see corners of the world a lot of other people don’t get to see. It really does make me feel good every time I sit down to my computer!

But I kept finding myself looking at my desktop to check the date. Sliding over my open window to check the date of next Wednesday.

And surprisingly I’m finding myself MISSING THE CALENDAR?? Like REALLY??

So much so that I am going to make my own?? WTF.
