Weekender Crew - 8 Sessions
Weekender Crew - 8 Sessions
A step by step class to help you knit your first (or 50th!) sweater! We’ll focus on fit modifications, details, and sweater knitting best practices you can take with you and apply to every sweater you knit in the future! I set up a manageable knitting schedule to help us all knit Andrea Mowry’s Weekender sweater together! This sweater has a lot going on, and I’m so excited to help you knit it every step of the way.
This 8 week class will take you step by step through the new Weekender Crew by Andrea Mowry. This is a great first sweater and is paced reasonably so knitters of any skill level will be able to keep up with some dedication and planning!
We’ll be covering:
Gauge and sizing
Sizing customization for both the body and the sleeves
A full bust adjustment so you can get a better fit in the front and no swinging back!
Knitting in the round and knitting flat - what happens if your gauge changes!
Tubular cast on and bind off
Short rows
Knitting sleeves two at a time
Optional - adding a second shoulder color!
Prerequisite: Students are comfortable with knitting and purling
Materials not included in the cost of your class:
DK Weight Yarn: 1016 (1139, 1251, 1399)(1535, 1640, 1845)(1960, 2112, 2270) yds for 34 (38.5, 41.5, 46)(50.5, 54, 58)(61, 66, 70.5)” finished full bust circumference, but we’ll talk about yarn weight substitutions in our materials class
Size 6 & 4 knitting needles - 32”+ length - though depending on your gauge you might need a larger variety of needles!
BUT PLEASE NOTE! We’ll make any yarn work for this sweater because we’re redesigning it based on your desired sweater size and gauge!

Notes About Allyson’s Classes!
Classes are taught live from Allyson’s home studio.
Each class features 2 cameras - a hand camera so you can see close ups of every detailed demo, and a face camera for face to face interaction.
Classes are kept small so everyone gets the personal attention they need to succeed!
Each class will be recorded and sent out to everyone to make it easy for student’s to rewatch important moments, or if a student needs to miss a live class.
After each class has 10 students sign up to attend the live classes, a recording only option will open up at 60% of the cost of the class. If you sign up for the recordings only option you won’t have access to attend the live classes, but you will be sent the recordings every week and be able to email Allyson any questions you have along the way.
