š£ Yoke Sweater Try Ons!
This was a fun game I played 2 weeks ago, so Iām going to do it again!
2 weeks ago my WIP pile looked like thisā¦
And now it looks like this!
MOST importantly - I finished that dame Sophie Hood! I havenāt taken pictures of it but I will!
I did a couple try ons, too! I separated for the sleeves of my Oraefi and this yoke is POPPINā!
Lots of round and round left for this sucker so this will be my retreat knit in the coming weeks. Super easy to knit round and round while chit chatting with everyone!
Would you take this class if I taught it again?! I had a hard time selling it, but now that people are seeing mine it seems like theyāre being #influenced!
And I finished knitting the colorwork body of my Doodle Sweater and steeked her open in class this weekend! Iām dead over how dumb this sweater is and how much I love it. Make your own fun, right?!
Laura and I are in discussions to teach Design Your Own Doodle Class again this spring, so keep an eye out!
And Lauraās Zipper Sweater class is a slow roll so Iām not focused on that one too much, but I did figure out my raglan increases so that feels like a big moment! Iām sure Iāll dig into that one more later!
My New Coat!
Last month I hosted a Grainline Studio Archer Sew Along at Laura Allyson Party, but I wanted to mix it up a bit! I modified the pattern to be this long jacket, and I just love it! Iāve been wearing it like crazy!
I had VERY specific coat needs - a mid temp, like 40-55 degrees, mainly dog walking coat that covered my butt so I could throw it on over my loungewear!
I've been seeing and really liking long shirt jackets, and yes there are a thousand patterns out there for them I know and love the Archer and just knew I could hack it!
So I sized up - normally I'm a Grainline size 8 but I cut a size 14. I lowered the length line from the waist to the hip and lengthened it by about 14". I eliminated all sleeve and cuff details! I cut much larger breast pockets and created these giant extra pockets at the hip!
I found this Eddie Bauer fabric at JoAnn that came in both pre quilted and regular flannel! So I cut the collar and all that in the flannel and the body and sleeves pieces in the pre quilted.
AND ITS PERFECT! It's 44 degrees, too warm for my insane winter coat but too cold for my cropped jacket, and I walked Royal, toasty warm with a scarf thrown over it and I'm basically a genius! And I look cute, too!
