We’re entering our cabled cardigan era with this chunky knit from our friends at Kelbourne Woolens! Winter Sweater is a texture-palooza - a pieced Raglan cardigan that can be your first or 100th sweater!

We’ll not only be learning best cabling techniques, but we’ll be customizing each piece of the sweater to our exact sizing specifications. All while taking a relaxed pace so everyone can keep up!

WHEN? Sundays August 18, 25, September 1, 15, 22, October 13, November 3, 10 & 17 - 10:00 - 11:30am CT

We’ll learn:
Applying your gauge to the pattern for the perfect fit
Cable knitting! Reading cable charts and knitting cables both with a cable needle and without
Bottom up raglan construction including:
- how to best organize your AT THE SAME TIME shaping (spoiler alert: SPREADSHEETS!)
- how to customize shaping when you adjust body and sleeve sizing
Textured short row shaping
Seaming
Buttons and button holes

Supplies:
Needles:
Depending on the yarn you’ll need US 8-10 needles - gauge/body needles and a needle 2 sizes smaller for ribbing

Notions:
Stitch markers
Waste yarn or extra cords for holding stitches
Tapestry needle

Sizing & Yarn Requirements:
Finished measurement at bust: 40.5 (41.75, 45, 50.75, 53, 55, 62, 64)” If you fall smaller or larger than this size range we will be modifying the pattern to fit your body.
948 (948, 1106, 1264, 1264, 1264, 1422, 1422) yards worsted/aran weight yarn, more if adding length/width or adjusting the gauge.

  • Sunday September 22: Let’s CABLE!

  • Sundays September 29 & October 6: BREAK WEEKS!

  • Sunday October 13: How the Back translates to working the Fronts

  • Sundays October 20 & 27: BREAK WEEKS!

  • Sunday November 3: Raglans

  • Sunday November 10: MORE RAGLANS!

A bonus class focused on yarn purchasing and substitutions will be held a month before your first class! Late to sign up? That class recording will be sent as part of your class welcome package

Notes About Allyson’s Classes!

  • Classes are taught live from Allyson’s home studio.

  • Each class features 2 cameras - a hand camera so you can see close ups of every detailed demo, and a face camera for face to face interaction.

  • Classes are kept small so everyone gets the personal attention they need to succeed!

  • Each class will be recorded and sent out to everyone to make it easy for student’s to rewatch important moments, or if a student needs to miss a live class.

  • After each class has 10 students sign up to attend the live classes, a recording only option will open up at 60% of the cost of the class. If you sign up for the recordings only option you won’t have access to attend the live classes, but you will be sent the recordings every week and be able to email Allyson any questions you have along the way.
